I have no idea of the name of this red flower that I saw in the Fine Arts Center court yard.
I am informed by several sources that this is bee balm.

Yesterday, a friend took me to the Chihuly exhibit at the Fine Arts Center here in Colorado Springs. I may go again, since some friends in Denver mentioned wanting to see it. Photo taking was allowed in the courtyard, but not inside. I was amazed to see the glass outside, since Colorado Springs is known for its summer hail storms.

From left to right: Smoke, Rags and Hap. I left the gate to the new field open last night, and the horses are taking advantage of my forgetfulness. Usually, they only get a few hours on the new field in the late afternoon, so they don’t eat it down to the ground.

Starting with Wandering the Blue Highways, my friend at Connections is sharing her journal entries and photos from her vacation in Colorado and adjoining states.

I took this photo from the deck of the house where we hold our stamp club meetings.

Summer Solstice — from Eric Weisstein’s World of Astronomy has a chart of when exactly the summer solstice occurs each year. This year, the solstice occurs at 6:36 am (Universal Time) on June 21.

Typical for Colorado summers was my thought today: “oh well, it was only pea-sized hail.” The violent storm lasted long enough to lay the dust before passing on. I went out looking for a rainbow, but found these clouds instead.
