Fortunately, the place I get Rion groomed allows me to drop him off at 7:30 am and pick him up at 9:00 am if I let them know when I make the appointment. This beats leaving him at the Bad Place for the entire morning. It’s nice to be able to see his eyes again.

Magic the mare is really starting to show her age (around 30) but is still fairly lively. She can’t eat much hay anymore so she takes it out of the tire feeder and dumps it on the ground. This is rather annoying given what we are paying for hay these days. Her other hobby is chasing my chestnut mare Lily. Lily is half Magic’s age, and probably weighs 400 pounds more than Magic, but that doesn’t seem to matter.
My friend’s cat Clown is one of the handsomest cats I know. I took a baby picture of him when he was much younger.
Our first winter here in Colorado, I was appalled when I realized we lose sight of the afternoon sun about 3:30 in the month of December, although true dark doesn’t occur until ninety minutes later.

This seems like our first real snowfall of the season. We have a little over a foot of very dry powder. There has been no wind so no drifting.
