A walk is hot work when you are a mostly black, somewhat portly collie.

Dudley: Finally, they found a big enough water bowl for me.

We have had thunderstorms in the area since about five, but have seen quite of lot of blue sky as well. I have been watching for a rainbow in the east, but the clouds have mostly been too dense to the west.

The winds were high before dawn this morning, which frequently leads to spectacular sunrises. It was already warm when I walked the dogs at 8:30, so it looks as though it will be another hot day.

This morning I took this photo of Pikes Peak, a local icon, from Garden of the Gods, another local icon.

I took this earlier in the season, and although things are still green, they are not this green. This photo of our house and adjacent acres was taken from the hill to the north of our property, and published earlier in my weblog, Coffee and Oranges.
