Dianthus

Dianthus
I am told by experienced gardeners that these are not the plants I put in the ground last year, but the results of those plants reseeding themselves. In any event, they make a spectacular show.

  1. I dunno, I think they are a perennial. I have some clumps that have been growing for three years, since I bought this place and redid the landscaping. If those plants were from seed, you would have little wispy baby ones scattered about instead of a nice cushiony clump like that. Mine bloom most of the year (because we are Zone 8 here), but if it gets too hot or too cold, they just die down and come back .
