Help EFF Research Web Browser Tracking

The Electronic Freedom Foundation is researching individual browser configurations to see how unique they are at Help EFF Research Web Browser Tracking.  I wasn’t surprised to find out that my configuration is unique since I run Google Chrome on a Linux system.  What did surprise me was learning that websites know what plugins I am running.  They also provide a Primer on Information Theory and Privacy.

Tired of missing Google Doodles?  Doodlewatch has a chronological log of  the graphics displayed on the Google site. I’ve linked to the filter for the logos seen in the United States, but there are other filters for other countries.

Facebook’s New Privacy Changes: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Our conclusion? These new “privacy” changes are clearly intended to push Facebook users to publicly share even more information than before. Even worse, the changes will actually reduce the amount of control that users have over some of their personal data.

I’ve deactivated my Facebook account, pending changes to Facebook’s Privacy Policies.
