Pretty, But Cold

It was 4F when I went out to feed horses this morning.  It took me almost as long to get dressed in multiple layers as to do the barn work.  We didn’t get as much snow as was forecast, only three to four inches.  Since I heard the wind last night, I was surprised that there wasn’t more drifting.

Storm Warning

When I fed horses this morning, there was only a scrap or two of clouds in the sky.  As I headed for the grocery store, I could see the clouds starting to move in, and it is now snowing heavily and sticking to the ground.  That sugar loaf shaped mountain is Mt Herman.

First Light

When we first moved here, I was tremendously impressed by the pink golden light on the hills west of us during morning sunrise. If you look closely, you can see where the ice fog that persisted all of yesterday ended about 100 feet above us.
