I have temporarily turned off commenting due to some idiot spambot flooding my weblog with solicitations to online gambling. I used the stop comments WordPress plugin to do so. The plugin does not allow you to post while the comments are turned off.

I’ve turned on comment moderation since I am still getting spammed!
The even more exciting part about using that “turn comments off” plugin is that not only does it disable posting but also logging in if you’re on a machine where the cookie isn’t already set. I actually had to SSH in and delete that plugin one day at work.
