I haven’t really lusted after an iPhone, despite fondling the ones belonging to my sister and niece. I don’t really like telephones in general, and cell phones in specific. I do have a cell phone, but in any gathering, I would wager that my cell phone is the oldest and most battered one there. I started carrying one (that rather resembled a brick) over a decade ago, after I lost the trailer off the hitch of my truck the first time. I still think of the cell phone as an emergency device rather than an accessory.

However, I must say that the WordPress Open Souce iPhone App, which purports to allow you to update your WordPress blog, would tempt me into buying one if I had $400.

Which I don’t.

I’ve updated my desktop wallpaper galleries. All of the wallpapers have borders like this one, and either a fractal or a photo from Colorado or Ireland.

Dear lady who almost drove into me with her silver Camry this morning. I know that Camrys have one hell of a blind spot for the driver, but you better figure that out before you total that pretty new car. Fortunately I was able to brake so we didn’t collide when you switched lanes without signaling, but you will increase your long-term odds of surviving if you start using your turn signals.

The most annoying thing about new releases of Wordpress is tracking down the new features. A release notes page off the download page would be nice, but I had to find 10 Things You Need to Know About WordPress 2.6 instead.

The PressThis bookmarklet is back, with a lot of new functions. All three of our weblogs upgraded without any problems.

As Jack and I were driving to work this morning, I saw the first McCain bumper sticker. I’ve seen lots of Obama stickers the past few weeks. This discrepancy is especially surprising considering El Paso county consistently votes Republican. The kicker: the bumper sticker was on a car with Virginia license plates. I think McCain has a problem. (Of course, this observation is totally bogus due to selection bias, but I see lots of Bush/Cheney stickers still.)
