As far as blogs go, they don’t get much more special-interest than this blog devoted to video game inspired crafts: Sprite Stitch. I’d be tempted by the Space Invaders Guitar Strap if I still did cross stitch.
Archive for the “Crafts” CategoryIn PaperFriendly: EASY DOES IT , Nancy Ward explains how to cut things out from paper, one of my least favorite paper craft activities. Two weeks ago, I mentioned that I would knit this Möbius scarf if I were a knitter. The accomplished fiber artist at Catena Expressions asked me my favorite color. Last night, the scarf arrived in the mail. It is so cool. The wool / silk blend is not at all scratchy feeling. She expressed a concern that it might be too large, but it fits comfortably over the head and will fill in a jacket neckline very well. If I were a knitter, I would knit this Möbius scarf. Wardrobe Refashion is a group weblog with an interesting premise: the people involved “Pledge that I shall refashion, renovate, recycle pre-loved items for myself.” As part of my participation in Laboratory 555: Chronicles of a Year-Long Online Art Retreat, I took photos of the room that I use as my office and craft room. This morning I posted them as a photoset on Flickr: Office and Craft Room. The web log happythings has a clearly photographed tutorial on how to easily make a lined drawstring bag.
