On our last morning in the park, we stayed in the foothills area and walked down to the river several different places.  The river was still high with snow melt in June.

Bear safes, to discourage bears from breaking into cars to get the goodies, were ubiquitous in the park.

California Buckeye was still flowering while we were at Sequoia National Park.

We were driving along and I had just said “No bears in that meadow” when I spotted this cinnamon colored American Black Bear.

Tharp’s Log is a hollowed sequoia log which was used as a summer home by an early pioneer.
