The local deer evidently read my web log.   They interpreted my announcement that my day-lilies are blooming as an invitation to a buffet.  Damn deer.

Yikes! What about containers on the deck? Would that work? Obviously I have never had deer trouble.

Elaine, I’ve nominated you for a couple of awards. Stop by if you’d like the buttons.

What’s wrong with your deer???? Deer do NOT like the taste of daylilies - are they actually eating the flowers, or just biting them - realizing they do nOT like the taste - and leaving the flowers hanging or on the ground? I had this problem in Casper - but only for a week or so and then they gave up the tasting. I actually thought it was the paper boy at first - since the day lilies were right next to the sidewalk and every morning (for a week) there would be flowers freshly broken off…finally realized what was going on - fortunately before I’d gotten around to accusing the poor paper boy!
