This has been the greenest August I can remember for some time. I have been seeing wildflowers that I don’t recall having ever seen before, like this spectacular bloom that I saw along the road to our house.

Pretty! I wonder what it is? It looks like purple fireworks :))
My mother used to raise those flowers in our backyard. I wish I knew what they are! The little green seed pods around the bottom of the blooms can be split open, revealing tiny seeds; they look like miniature bean pods. I remember being fascinated by these flowers as a child.
Is it cleome?
