Last summer, I planted two pots of lilium.\u00a0 I was disappointed, but not surprised, when they apparently died before the end of summer.\u00a0 We live in a very harsh climate, and I am mildly astonished when plants survive both the conditions and my lackadaisical care.\u00a0 This spring I thought “that’s a pretty weed” then realized the lilium had come back.\u00a0 This is the red variety that I planted; the white variety has buds that have not yet opened.\u00a0 Isn’t it gorgeous?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
