We live in a very conservative area, so last night I was taken aback when the young woman who was bagging my groceries started chatting about how happy she was over Obama’s election. After a few seconds, I realized that she saw the Obama-Biden button on my jacket, purchased while I stood in line for the Michelle Obama Get the Vote Out Rally. We agreed that the best moment was when the networks called Ohio, and that we both started screaming.<\/p>\n
This was almost as good as when I realized that our northwest neighbors had put two Obama-Biden signs by their mailbox. We only had one by our mailbox, and I didn’t think anyone else in the valley would put up anything but McCain-Palin signs. I know there is at least one other Democrat in our precinct, because I’ve seen the name on the rolls, but the address is different than our neighbor’s. (Jack is registered Republican, since that is the only primary that counts here, but caucuses with the local Drinking Liberally group.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
