Hap and I

Hap

My trainer took this photo of me riding Hap yesterday, on a beautiful spring day. There were still a lot of soggy places in the arena, but the footing wasn’t at all slick.

    Excellent heel down position :) My trainer would love it if I kept my heels down like that.

    Thanks. I remember the dressage clinic where the clinician told me I had a good leg on my horse, and I felt like getting her to sign an affidavit. As an adult learning to ride, it took me years to get there.

    Actually, with Hap, heels down isn’t just a matter of style, but a matter of survival, since it is the only way I have a chance of staying on if he spooks.
