I am now trying Dougal’s Tarpit plugin to see if I can discourage the video gambling spammer who is flooding my comments.

It seems to be working, so I have turned comment moderation off.

I got hit with one comment, so I am now requiring name and email. I’ll see if that does anything.

I’ve been getting plowed with the same crap. I moderate everything by default but until I installed the Three Strikes plugin it was a lot of time spent deleting the crud. Grrrr…

Thanks, Elaine, for the info. When I finally am able to get my weblog moved to another server, I think I’ll try installing this plugin. The gambling spam gets me every day. Grrrrr.

It really has been quite bad the last week or so! I’ll have to look into that plugin myself…as it is now I’ve just tweaked my moderation settings…what annoys me now is the “please approve” emails!
