Garden of the Gods
My niece stands in a slot at the Garden of the Gods yesterday. She was very impressed to find that people are allowed to climb on the rocks, with permits, of course. We saw quite a few technical climbers. We overheard two teenaged boys asking a ranger if there was any place to climb without "ropes and stuff" and the deadpan ranger replied, "yes, but you need permits and stuff."
